Baxter Building Ep. 15.5: Delayed Gratification

April 18, 2016

Previously on Baxter Building: Not so fast, dear Whatnauts — due to technical problems, what would be Baxter Building Ep. 16 is delayed until some mysterious, undefined point in the next week or so, meaning that you’ll have to wait a little while longer to learn about the obsession Jeff and I share about the end of Roy Thomas’ first marriage and how it feeds into his first run on Marvel’s First Family. In the meantime, here’s a brief glimpse of what lies ahead, performed by several individuals who might not have been the best voice actors in the country in the 1970s, but were almost certainly some of the cheapest.

Normal service will be resumed shortly, and we appreciate your patience (and apologize for inflicting the Power Records FF on you).

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the podcast.

To help sooth your technical frustration and feed your “Roy Thomas and his first marriage” obsession simultaneously, here is a link to a NATIONAL LAMPOON Foto Funnies page from the early 70 featuring “the rascally one” in bed with his ex-wife, Jeanie and NatLamp founder, Doug Kenny in a menage et trois scenario! All are nude of course (athough the strip is regrettably censored by the poster!). Scroll 2/3 of the way down to find the post. The second strip is a “cleaner” version from Marvel’s own CRAZY, also with Roy and Jeanie. Roy is still nude though! I’m not sure who the 3rd guy is .

Here are the two CRAZY strips a little bigger and clearer,

I still have a copy of the Power Records version of this somewhere!

  4. I loved that album/comic as a kid. But Johnny Storm to me will always sound like Bill Murray.
